Dr Velile Notshulwana-Mqota a Clinical Psychologist, founder and Chief Executive Officer of the SANKOFA HOLDINGS and the Convenor of African Prosperity Forum.
He obtained Bachelors of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the City University of New York (City College), Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University, and Post Graduate Certificate (PGC) in Executive Leadership in Higher Education from Fletcher Graduate School of Education, Nova South-Eastern University, North Miami, Florida, USA.
Dr Notshulwana-Mqota taught English Courses (Basic Writing Skills, Creative Writing, ESL Writing for non-English Speakers, and Composition) at Hudson County College, Jersey City, New Jersey, USA.
He also taught psychology courses (Introduction to Psychology, Multicultural Psychology, Substance Abuse Counselling, Research Methods, Developmental Psychology, Statistics, and Human Sexuality) to both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Montclair State University, Essex County College, New Jersey City University in USA.
Dr Notshulwana-Mqota is the former Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Nelson Mandela University.
Dr Notshulwana-Mqota is the author of numerous books including UBUDODA – Raising Our Black Teenage Sons Into Honourable Men, Marvel Publishers 2020; Phuhlisa Career Guidance Marvel Publishers 2019; and He is the co-author with Peter Langue of Master English for Grade 11, Published in 2012 by Cambridge University Press.
Dr Notshulwana-Mqota has been feature in national radios stations in South Africa as an expert commentator on issues of families’ well-being, fatherhood, Ending Gender-Based Violence and youth development including SAfm, Radio 2000 and Umhlobo Wenene.
